A domestic dispute in Vidalia, Georgia, on January 6, 2022, ended in a double homicide that took the lives of 42-year-old Pamela Harden and her 24-year-old daughter Latorey Harden. Officers responded after two 911 calls from a residence on East 5th Street; Latorey was pronounced dead at the scene and Pamela was transported in critical condition to Memorial Health in Savannah, where she later died. Reports say Latorey was holding her infant son when she was shot, and Pamela had gone to help after receiving a call that her daughter was in trouble.
Investigators determined the shooter fled in Pamela Harden’s blue 2021 Nissan Rogue. The vehicle was recovered in Birmingham, Alabama, and a suspect, 27-year-old Joshua Magual Sanders of Birmingham, was arrested by U.S. Marshals in Flagstaff, Arizona, on January 12, 2022, then returned to Georgia. A Toombs County grand jury later indicted Sanders on multiple counts including malice murder and felony murder.
Anyone with information about the events on East 5th Street or who knew Pamela or Latorey is asked to come forward.
