A parking-lot confrontation in Macon, Georgia, ended in a fatal shooting on November 17, 2021. Jarvis Ottman, 37, allegedly used his vehicle to block another car on Mercer University Drive. Investigators say Ottman then approached the blocked vehicle in a threatening manner while the driver sat inside with passengers, including children.
The driver discharged a firearm, striking Ottman multiple times. Ottman was later pronounced dead at a local hospital. The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office ruled the death a justifiable homicide, concluding the shooter acted to protect himself and the passengers. Because of that finding, no arrests were made and no criminal charges were filed.
Are there witnesses who saw what led up to the confrontation or who can clarify how the encounter began?
