Malik Deanthony Robinson, 23, of Ellenwood, Georgia, was reported missing to the DeKalb County Police Department on November 7, 2021. His body was found two days later, on November 9, 2021, by a county road crew in a wooded area in Barnesville. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation determined Robinson had sustained at least one gunshot wound and concluded the wooded site was not where the shooting occurred.

Investigators traced the killing to a residence on Boulderview Drive in DeKalb County, where they believe Robinson was shot and killed on November 7, 2021, the same day he was reported missing. A suspect, Derico Joseph McCoggle, was identified and later arrested and charged with malice murder in connection with Robinson’s death.
