A dispute at a McDonough flea market on July 25, 2021 ended in the fatal shooting of 54-year-old Oliver Louis Williams Jr. Williams, an African American vendor at the Peachtree Peddler’s Flea Market & Antique Centre, was described by those who knew him as friendly and kind. He and a neighboring vendor, 39-year-old Larry Favors Jr. of Covington, got into a verbal argument that escalated and resulted in Williams being shot.

Henry County police arrested Favors at the scene. He was charged with murder, felony murder, aggravated assault, and reckless conduct and was held at the Henry County Jail without bond as the case proceeded. Williams’s death deeply affected market regulars and his family. Does anyone who frequented the market that day have additional details about the argument or the moments before the shooting?
