A family dispute in Macon, Georgia, ended in homicide on July 7, 2021. Nineteen-year-old Marquez Card was shot during an argument on Dewey Street and was taken to a local hospital; he died a few days later from his injuries.
The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office named Marquez’s brother, 20-year-old James Card, as a person of interest and searched for him. On July 21 he was found hiding in a closet on Hillyer Avenue and taken into custody without incident. Authorities charged him in connection with the shooting, which investigators say followed a verbal altercation.
There are limited public details about what led to the dispute and the timeline between the shooting and Marquez’s death. Does anyone who knew the Card family or was in the Dewey Street area that week have information to share?
