On June 11, 2021, a mass shooting in the 200 block of Avery Street in Savannah, Georgia killed 20-year-old Arthur Milton. A crowd had gathered outside an apartment complex when a dark-colored or red sedan drove by and at least one occupant opened fire into the group. Milton sustained fatal injuries and died shortly after the incident.
The attack wounded a total of eight people, ages ranging from 18 months to 33 years, and also killed 26-year-old Terryl Jamal Coleman. Investigators recovered more than 60 shell casings at the scene. Police believed the shooting may have stemmed from a conflict between two groups and noted a previous shooting at the same location days earlier. Despite a reward of at least $10,000 for tips, no suspects have been publicly identified and no arrests have been announced.
If anyone has information about who was in or driving the vehicle that drove through the 200 block of Avery Street on June 11, 2021, please come forward.
