In April 2021 a domestic dispute at an apartment on Neal Street in Newnan, Georgia, ended with 25-year-old Carlesha D. Wells shot once in the chest at close range. Wells, a mother of two, had been at the apartment of her boyfriend, Marcus Strozier Jr., when an argument that reportedly involved allegations of infidelity moved from outside into the residence. The shot sent her backward out of the apartment into the front yard; she was unresponsive when emergency services arrived and was taken to a hospital where she was pronounced dead. Investigators confirmed Wells was unarmed at the time and Strozier fled the scene but turned himself in to police hours later and was arrested and charged with murder. At trial the defense said the handgun discharged accidentally and that there was no intent to kill, but the jury convicted Strozier of murder; the jury was unable to reach a unanimous verdict on a separate aggravated assault with a firearm count, producing a mistrial on that charge.

Are there anyone who knew Carlesha Wells or who was in that neighborhood on the day this happened who can offer additional details?
