On the late morning of September 3, 2012, 20-year-old Rashawn Muhammad, a Black male, was found in the 2700 block of Beryl Avenue in Baltimore having sustained fatal gunshot wounds. He was discovered at about 11:45 a.m. His death was one of several homicides that occurred in the city that day.
The case description links the killing to the city’s broader problems with poverty and drug-related gun violence and notes investigators faced witness reluctance and limited evidence. Those obstacles have contributed to the investigation growing cold. There has been no public announcement of arrests or identified suspects in connection with his murder.
If anyone knew Rashawn, saw activity on Beryl Avenue that morning, or has information that could help move this investigation forward, please come forward to the appropriate authorities.
