In Flowery Branch, Georgia, 15-year-old Atif Muhammad and his mother, Mary Lindsay, 39, were found shot to death inside their home on Apple Grove Road. The bodies were discovered on March 26, 2021, after Lindsay’s older daughter, who had not heard from the family for several days, gained entry through a window. An 8-year-old brother was found asleep and unharmed in a separate room.
Investigators identified William Jerome Adams, who had been living with the family and was in a relationship with Lindsay, as the primary suspect. Ten days before the killings, Lindsay and her children had found a handgun in her room that she said belonged to Adams, and she had emailed herself a photo of an arm injury she said he caused. After the slayings, Adams reportedly stole $2,000 from Lindsay’s bank account and fled; authorities later located him in Laredo, Texas, as he tried to cross into Mexico under an assumed name.
The killings left Atif’s surviving siblings, including his twin sister, to carry on without their mother and brother. If anyone knew the family or saw activity around Apple Grove Road in March 2021, please share information.
