Daniel Bonham, 59, was shot to death in Albany, Georgia, on February 26, 2021, in a violent incident that left two people dead that day. Reports tie his killing to the same outbreak of gunfire that also killed Gwendolyn McMillan. Prosecutors later described a scene in which, after an argument, the defendant reportedly said he would leave and then shot Bonham in the back of the head.

Authorities initially focused on John McMillan in connection with Gwendolyn McMillan’s death, then announced charges against McMillan in Bonham’s shooting as well. Subsequent court reporting says McMillan pleaded guilty to two counts of malice murder and two counts of aggravated assault in the shootings, and received life sentences, leaving no separate arrests reported in Bonham’s death.
