D’Andre Rashad Cotton, 27, was found dead from a gunshot wound to the head on the front porch of his Wright Street home in LaGrange, Georgia, after officers responded to a shooting call shortly after 10 p.m. on January 17, 2021. Another man, 28-year-old Jamarius Dunlap, was also shot; he was taken to a local hospital by a private vehicle and later life-flighted to Atlanta for further treatment.

Investigators identified a suspect and secured arrest warrants for 32-year-old Calvin Demond Sanders. Sanders was located and taken into custody in Woodbury, Georgia, on February 12, 2021, and transported to the Troup County Jail.
