Keenen Armon Leonard, 29, was fatally shot while sitting in his car in the driveway of his LaGrange, Georgia, home on New Year’s Day 2021. He had just returned with food and was talking on the phone with his girlfriend when she heard gunshots and ran outside to find him dead in the driver’s seat. Investigators reported no known connection between Leonard and the shooter and described the killing as senseless, with no clear motive identified.

Police focused on 26-year-old Camron Downing. Downing initially said he had been lost, asked Leonard for directions, and shot him in self-defense after an argument when he believed Leonard was about to shoot him. Investigators found Leonard unarmed and the girlfriend did not hear him speaking to anyone else on the call. Downing later admitted the shooting and led police to a Smith and Wesson .357 Magnum revolver; ballistics testing confirmed the bullets that killed Leonard were fired from that gun.

Does anyone have information about Leonard’s last day or saw activity in that neighborhood on New Year’s Day 2021?
