Keion Shontrell KD Jackson, 30, was fatally shot on the evening of January 1, 2021, on Oconee Street in Milledgeville, Georgia. Police found Jackson about 9:30 p.m. with a gunshot wound to his stomach; he was taken to Navicent Health in Milledgeville and later transferred to Navicent Health in Macon, where he died.
Investigators focused on 27-year-old Raquevius Lamon Hodges. According to witness accounts, the confrontation began after a telephone argument between Jackson and Hodges over a woman; the two had been together earlier with a third person and got into a physical fight. Witnesses said Jackson went into a house, retrieved a gun, and attempted to shoot Hodges, but the firearm reportedly jammed while Jackson tried to clear it and Hodges, who was also armed, shot Jackson. Reluctant witnesses eventually provided testimony; the district attorney concluded Hodges acted in self-defense and did not file murder charges. Hodges was arrested on charges of being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.
Are there details about the scene, the third person present, or witnesses that anyone can add to help clarify what happened?
