In the pre-dawn hours of November 16, 2020, a violent home invasion on North Woodlawn Drive in Blakely, Georgia, left 63-year-old Clifford L. Moore dead and two other men wounded. Law enforcement received a report of a break-in and shooting at about 1:36 a.m.; officers from the Early County Sheriff’s Office found three shooting victims at the scene. Clifford Moore was taken to Lifebrite Community Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Tony Smith, 36, and Dustin Jackson, 30, were treated at local hospitals and later released. It is unclear whether any of the victims lived at the house where the shooting occurred. The Blakely Police Department, assisted by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, processed the scene and interviewed witnesses but no arrests have been announced and the investigation remains active. Clifford Moore is remembered as a loving father, brother, and cousin and is survived by two children, Connie Williams and Clifford Lee Moore, Jr., and five grandchildren.
