A verbal dispute at a Savannah motel on Ogeechee Road turned deadly in the early morning of November 14, 2020. Savannah police were called to the Deluxe Inn at about 5 a.m. and found 40-year-old Richard Thomas Vinson deceased in a guest room from a fatal shooting. Vinson was born February 6, 1980.

Investigators reported the shooting followed a dispute between two men. Police identified and arrested 37-year-old Micky Hamilton at the scene; Hamilton was booked into the Chatham County jail on a murder charge. A Chatham County grand jury later returned multiple murder indictments in connection with Vinson’s death, and the case remained under investigation as authorities worked to establish the full sequence of events.

Did anyone in the community see or hear anything at the Deluxe Inn that morning that could help clarify what happened?
