On a summer evening in August 2020, 22-year-old Julius Vance of Snellville was shot in unincorporated Lilburn, Georgia, in the 700 block of Beaver Ruin Road. The shooting, which officers believe was drug-related, occurred around 7:30 p.m. and left two other men wounded.
Lilburn officers working an off-duty job nearby heard the gunfire and found one man with a gunshot wound to the abdomen. Investigators later located a second victim in the bed of a pickup truck on Burns Walk Court with a chest wound, and a third victim shot multiple times at a residence on Cliffglen Way. All three were taken to local hospitals; the two other victims survived. Days after the shooting, Julius Vance died of his injuries and the Gwinnett County Police Department opened a homicide investigation.
In November 2020, the Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Department fugitive squad arrested 22-year-old Christopher Jean-Pierre of Lawrenceville and charged him with felony murder, aggravated assault, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime; authorities said the investigation remained active. Did anyone in the area see or hear anything that night that could help the investigation?
