A 17-year-old student at Long County High School, Nahiem Henderson, was fatally shot on the afternoon of Wednesday, July 22, 2020, in the Shady Oaks Mobile Home Park in Hinesville. Officers found Henderson around 6:30 p.m. lying outside a trailer with a gunshot wound to the head; emergency medical personnel attempted resuscitation but he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators said the killing appeared connected to an earlier confrontation and that Henderson was struck by gunfire when he arrived at the mobile home. It was not clear whether he lived in the park or was visiting family. Within a day, an 18-year-old from Ludowici, Tyerique Hardy, was arrested at another mobile home park and charged with murder; police said additional arrests were possible as the probe continued.

Does anyone who knew Nahiem or who was in Shady Oaks that evening have information to share?
