Shalonda Morris, 36, was last seen on October 12, 2007, in Palm Desert, California, after leaving her Palm Springs home around midday to meet a friend, Sean Michael Mihajson, at a smoke shop. She was driving a dark burgundy 2008 Chevrolet Trailblazer and never returned; her sudden disappearance was out of character and especially worrying because she needed ongoing medical treatment for cancer.
Authorities later treated her disappearance as a homicide after recovering her vehicle and finding evidence consistent with foul play. Investigators identified Sean Mihajson, his twin sister Vanesa, and their father Victor as persons of interest. Reports indicate Morris planned to buy marijuana from Sean in a transaction said to involve $7,500, and that she may have been killed during the exchange and robbed. Vanesa is reported to have helped dispose of Morris’s body by providing a van, duct tape, and plastic sheeting, though she was not said to be present at the killing.
Morris’s body has never been recovered, leaving her family without closure. If anyone knew Shalonda, saw her Trailblazer after October 12, 2007, or has any information about the meeting at the smoke shop, please come forward.
