Octavius Savon Nixon was 20 when he was found fatally shot outside a building at the Pendleton Homes Apartments on Houston Avenue in Macon, Georgia. Deputies from the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office responded to a shooting call on May 9, 2020, arriving about 6:10 a.m.; Nixon had suffered gunshot wounds to his head and arm and was pronounced dead at the scene by the Bibb County Coroner.
Initial investigation produced no immediate leads and authorities said they had no information about a suspect. In January 2021 the sheriff’s office named 22-year-old Tolbert Legran Finney Jr. as a person of interest and released his photograph seeking the public’s help. No public information about any arrest, charges, or conviction in connection with Nixon’s death has been released, and the case remains open.
If anyone knew Octavius, was at Pendleton Homes that morning, or has information about what happened, please come forward.
