Ronnell Chaney was 20 when he was found with gunshot wounds on a Tuesday night in the 500 block of East 21st Street in Baltimore. He was taken to a hospital but died on Thursday, March 22, 2012, just days before his 21st birthday on March 29. He was the father of a young son.

Baltimore police initially had no suspects and had not identified a motive. The investigation was opened, but there have been no subsequent reports of arrests, named suspects, or persons of interest in connection with his shooting. The circumstances of that late March night remain unresolved.
