Eddy Leonardo, 48, was killed in Roswell, Georgia, on February 1, 2020. Leonardo ran a check-cashing business inside Super Mercado Jalisco No. 6 at 10390 Alpharetta Street and arrived at the store shortly before 1 p.m. carrying a substantial amount of cash for the business; a police report cited in local reporting put the amount at about $50,000. His 9-year-old son was with him.

Investigators reconstructed what appeared to be a coordinated robbery that began before Leonardo reached the supermarket. License-plate-reader and surveillance footage showed a black Dodge Charger near a bank and a restaurant Leonardo had stopped at earlier, then following his truck toward the supermarket. When Leonardo pulled into the supermarket parking lot, the Charger pulled in behind him. A man later identified as getting out of the passenger side approached Leonardo, demanded the money, and after a physical confrontation shot him once in the torso. Leonardo collapsed and was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead. A plastic bag containing a large amount of currency was recovered nearby.

Three people were publicly arrested in the case: James Travious English, Anthony Boyd and Manvel Britton. Evidence reported in court included surveillance video, cellphone records linking phones associated with English and Britton, and Britton’s fingerprints in the Charger. Britton was charged in connection with the shooting. Does anyone have additional information about Leonardo, the businesses he ran, or witnesses who saw the Charger that day?
