Thomas Choppa Isaiah Harrold, 34, was shot and killed at a residence on East Park Court in Albany, Georgia, on January 18, 2020. He was pronounced dead at the scene from at least one gunshot wound; his death was recorded as the first homicide of 2020 in Dougherty County.

The Dougherty County Police Department and the Georgia Bureau of Investigation responded and arrested 24-year-old Randy Lee Barney at the scene. A grand jury later indicted Randy Lee Barney Jr. on malice murder, felony murder, aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, with a jury trial scheduled to begin March 14, 2022. Court and jail records indicated the charges remained active into early 2023.
