A holiday gathering turned deadly just after Thanksgiving in 2019. Benedicto Granados, a 30-year-old Hispanic man from Lawrenceville, was visiting family and friends in unincorporated Lilburn when gunfire erupted. Just before 3 a.m. on the Friday after Thanksgiving, police responded to a home on Barnaby Court and found Granados in the garage with multiple gunshot wounds to his upper body. He was taken to a local hospital and later pronounced dead.
Investigators say Granados was the apparent intended target after an argument that escalated. Gwinnett County police identified a suspect and obtained an arrest warrant for 28-year-old Eriberto Villanueva of Atlanta, charging him with felony murder and aggravated assault. Law enforcement asked the public for help locating Villanueva.
If anyone has information about that night, the location, or the people involved, please share what is known with investigators.
