On Thanksgiving Day, November 28, 2019, 20-year-old Jason Martin was shot and killed in Forest Park, Georgia, after trying to intervene in a dispute. A group playing basketball became involved in an argument nearby; Martin, who was not part of that initial fight, approached a vehicle where the confrontation was occurring in an attempt to de-escalate matters. A man later identified as 22-year-old Jalen Leverette reportedly arrived in a black sedan brandishing two firearms and opened fire, striking Martin in the neck and chest. A friend took Martin to Southern Regional Medical Center, where he died of his injuries.

Law enforcement identified Jalen Leverette as the primary suspect, and he turned himself in on December 2, 2019. He was taken into custody and charged with murder, aggravated assault, and kidnapping in connection with Martin’s death. If anyone witnessed the shooting or knew Jason, does anyone have information that could help clarify what happened that day?
