Late on the night of November 16, 2019, a family dispute at a home at 387 Mill Pond Road in Rhine, Georgia, ended in deadly violence. A verbal argument between two brothers, 49-year-old Dennis Henry Reaves and his older brother, escalated into a physical fight. Dennis Reaves was shot and found deceased at the scene when Dodge County Sheriff’s deputies arrived. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation was called in to assist.

Investigators arrested 61-year-old Steven Frank Reaves and charged him with one count of Malice Murder, one count of Felony Murder, and one count of Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of Certain Crimes. The shooting shocked the small community.
