On September 23, 2019, at about 1:30 p.m., 18-year-old Ahmad Deshon Fredrick was found inside a vehicle in the 400 block of West Mary Street in Valdosta, Georgia, after a reported shooting. Officers discovered Fredrick and another person with gunshot wounds; Fredrick was pronounced dead at the scene and the other victim was taken to South Georgia Medical Center.
Valdosta Police detectives treated the death as a homicide and quickly identified several people they believed were involved. Arrest warrants were issued and multiple suspects were later taken into custody. Richard Lindell Wolfe was named as a primary suspect and charged with felony murder, three counts of aggravated assault, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime; authorities described him as armed and dangerous and sought public assistance locating him. Shaivon Edwards, 25, and Jaquarius Holsendolph were also charged with felony murder, aggravated assault, and firearm possession after arrests, while Tawanya Postell, 42, and Ashia Edwards, 30, were charged with hindering the investigation by giving false statements.
Did anyone in Valdosta see or hear anything in the West Mary Street area that afternoon?
