Quintavius Threatt Rainey was 21 when he was shot on Robinson Drive in Macon, Georgia, late on Friday, September 20, 2019. Deputies from the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office found him just before 11 p.m. with a single gunshot wound to his side. He was taken to the Medical Center, Navicent Health; although his injuries were first described as not life-threatening, he died in the early hours of Saturday, September 21, 2019.

The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office opened a homicide investigation and asked the public for help in the days after the shooting. As of the latest report, no arrests or suspects have been publicly identified and authorities have not released the circumstances that led to the shooting. The investigation remains open.
