Elliot LaWayne Harris was 44 when he was shot in Temple Hills, Maryland, on the evening of October 6, 2011. Officers found him inside a vehicle on the 4300 block of 23rd Parkway; he was taken to a local hospital in critical condition and died of his injuries on December 2, 2011.

Prince George’s County detectives opened a homicide investigation and publicly appealed for information, saying they were working to establish a suspect and a motive. In the years after the shooting there have been no public announcements naming suspects or reporting arrests, and the case has grown cold with the reasons behind the violence unresolved.
