On the evening of Thursday, January 24, 2019, four people were killed in Rockmart, Georgia, including 19-year-old Jaequinn Davis. Davis was one of two victims found at a Williamson Street residence; 48-year-old Helen Rose Mitchell was also found dead there and 24-year-old Peerless Brown was shot at the same location but survived. A short distance away on Rome Street, 24-year-old Arkeyla Perry and 26-year-old Dadrian Cummings were found deceased.

Investigators from multiple agencies, led by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, identified 27-year-old Daylon Delon Gamble as the suspect in the four homicides and the shooting of the survivor. Gamble reportedly fled in a stolen truck that was later abandoned in Bartow County; a manhunt ended with his arrest without incident on January 27, 2019, in Indianapolis by the U.S. Marshal’s Service Great Lakes Regional Fugitive Task Force. He was extradited to Georgia to face four murder charges. The motive for the shootings has not been reported.
