A domestic argument in a Covington home on Usher Street ended in two fatal shootings on January 16, 2019. Tijuana Cook, 41, was shot multiple times inside the house by her husband, 37-year-old Cedric Bernard Cook. Their 23-year-old daughter, Michelle Olivia Dickerson, was shot and killed as she arrived at the residence. A third person, Michelle Dickerson’s boyfriend, Theodore Betton, was wounded while fleeing the scene.

Police found the house with more than 50 bullet casings. Cedric Cook fled briefly into nearby woods but was taken into custody after emerging and admitting his involvement. He faced multiple charges including malice murder, felony murder, aggravated assault and firearm-possession counts.

Court records show Cedric Cook later entered a guilty plea and received life without parole plus an additional five years on the gun counts. Does anyone have information about the victims, their lives in Covington, or the events that led up to that night?
