Quinton Tylor Benyard, 28, was found in the roadway at the corner of Poplar and Third Street in Macon on December 21, 2018, after sustaining a gunshot wound. A Bibb County sheriff’s deputy discovered him around 1:00 a.m.; he was taken to the Medical Center, Navicent Health and pronounced dead in the operating room at about 3:30 a.m.

Investigators said Benyard had been involved in an altercation earlier at Grant’s Lounge, a nightclub on Poplar Street. Authorities interviewed witnesses and asked the public to help identify a gold or tan GMC Yukon or Tahoe seen in the area around the time of the shooting. His death was reported as the 39th homicide in Macon‑Bibb County that year.
