Natasha Alexandra Reyes, 29, was shot and killed at her home on Maplewood Drive in Warner Robins, Georgia, on November 13, 2018. The Houston County District Attorney described the case as especially tragic: Reyes had offered shelter and food to a homeless man, identified in reports as Rodney Helms, who stayed in her residence that rainy Tuesday.

According to authorities, Helms attempted to steal a .40 caliber handgun and other personal items from Reyes’ bedroom. When Reyes confronted him, an altercation followed and she was shot multiple times with the handgun he was trying to take. Helms then fled the scene with the stolen items but was arrested a short time later while walking toward a convenience store on Feagin Mill Road.

The kindness that brought a stranger into Reyes’ home ended in a fatal, violent confrontation. If anyone knew Natasha, saw her on November 13, 2018, or has information about what happened that day, please share what you know.
