On the evening of October 24, 2018, 16-year-old Quinton Keyvon Martin was fatally wounded in a drive-by shooting as he was being driven home from his job in Covington, Georgia. He and his manager were shot after an unidentified vehicle approached their car on Greenway Drive; Quinton died at a local hospital and his manager survived. The Newton County Sheriff’s Office described the attack as ambush-style and said investigators believed the vehicle had followed them from the Zaxby’s parking lot.
Quinton was an honor roll student at Alcovy High School who worked at Zaxby’s and was saving for a car, with hopes of becoming a pilot. He had survived earlier family tragedy at age eight, when his mother and grandmother were killed and he protected his younger siblings. His father has said he does not believe Quinton was the intended target.
Did anyone in Covington or who knew Quinton see the vehicle or its occupants that night, or have information that could help solve this case?
