William Bonhart, 53, was shot dead on the evening of October 22, 2018, on Wilson Road in Riverdale, Georgia. Responding officers and emergency services found him lying face down in the street with multiple gunshot wounds; he was pronounced dead at the scene. Neighbors reported hearing several shots and one witness described a man fleeing in a black Chevrolet Impala that sped away from the area.

The Clayton County Police Department sought the public’s help identifying and locating whoever was responsible. A comment on a memorial page later suggested a conviction in August 2022 naming Carlos Heard, but searches have not produced any official confirmation of an arrest or conviction in this case. The homicide remains publicly unresolved, and the family and community continue to await answers.

If anyone has information about what happened that night or about the vehicle seen leaving the scene, please come forward.
