George Samuel Henderson, 50, was killed in his Dalton, Georgia home on the night of October 13, 2018. He was found on the kitchen floor with multiple gunshot wounds to the head. The initial 911 call came from his 25-year-old daughter, Hannah Celese Henderson, who confessed to shooting him and first told the operator she had walked in on him molesting her son.
Investigators found evidence that contradicted that account. Both fatal bullets entered from behind at close range, and the second shot was fired after George Henderson had already been wounded and stumbled into the kitchen. Hannah’s account changed over time, and investigators also noted she was in possession of methamphetamine at the time. George had previously provided his daughter with a car and a food truck while she struggled with substance abuse.
A Whitfield County grand jury indicted Hannah Henderson in November 2018 on murder-related and weapons charges. On May 14, 2019, she pleaded guilty to felony murder, withdrew the molestation allegation as untrue, and was sentenced to life with 30 years to be served before parole eligibility. She also relinquished parental rights to her son and waived any claim to her father’s estate.
If anyone knew George or has information about what happened that night, please come forward.
