Freddie Bernard Slocumb Jr., 39, was found dead in his Macon, Georgia home on the afternoon of Monday, September 10, 2018. A cousin, worried after not hearing from him, discovered Slocumb in the living room of his Pansy Avenue residence with a gunshot wound to the head. Deputies from the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office and the coroner responded and pronounced him dead just after noon.
Authorities classified the death as suspicious and opened a homicide investigation. Investigators said Slocumb had last been seen alive the evening before, sitting on his porch. In the days after the discovery, law enforcement asked the public for help but did not identify any suspects or announce arrests.
Anyone with information about Freddie Slocumb Jr. or the events of September 9–10, 2018, is urged to come forward.
