Jarvis Willis, 32, was shot and killed late one Wednesday night in Americus, Georgia. His body was found in the roadway of the Greystone mobile home park on Mask Road between 11:30 and 11:45 p.m. Investigators determined he had been shot after apparently walking into the middle of an ongoing shooting.
The probe quickly identified multiple suspects. Within days, 38-year-old Christopher Shane Hale and 18-year-old Christopher Shane Hale Jr. turned themselves in to the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office and were charged with aggravated assault and felony murder. Further arrests included 18-year-old Jaylen T. Leverette and an unnamed 16-year-old male, both from Americus, who faced felony murder and aggravated assault counts. Investigators believe Leverette and the juvenile were firing from a vehicle into a residence at 745 Mask Road; dozens of shell casings were recovered at the scene. Willis is believed to have been an innocent bystander.
Did anyone in the area witness the shooting or have information about activity around Mask Road that night?
