On July 26, 2011, 37-year-old Tanyika R. Gibbs was found shot to death at a home on 4300 Nicholas Avenue in Baltimore. Her father, 58-year-old Billy Lovitt, and a friend, Michael Jones, were also found in the house, each having been shot in the head. After the killings, the house was set on fire; firefighters discovered the three bodies in the charred remains.
Family members say police were called about shots fired roughly 90 minutes before the blaze was reported, but officers who responded left after seeing nothing unusual. Loved ones suggested Tanyika might have still been alive when firefighters arrived. Investigators later reported that leads had been exhausted and no suspects or arrests have been publicly identified.
Does anyone with memories of Nicholas Avenue or information about that night have tips that could help the families find answers?
