Sharika Bowman, 35, was shot and killed in her own driveway on Wyndham Drive in Stone Mountain, Georgia, on the morning of March 30, 2018. A licensed practical nurse studying to become a registered nurse and a mother of five, she had just returned from an appointment and was preparing to take her oldest son to school when the attack occurred around 10 a.m.

Her teenage son inside the house heard the gunfire and found her in the vehicle, then called 911. Foots fled in a black Hyundai Genesis; law enforcement later located him in North Carolina after pinging his cellphone, pursued and arrested him, and extradited him to Georgia to face charges.

A grand jury indicted Foots on malice murder, felony murder, aggravated assault family violence, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. The victim’s family has lost a mother and caregiver—if anyone knew Sharika Bowman or has information about her life or the case, please share what you can.
