Christopher Jerome Battle, 42, was shot and killed outside his home on Ruben Drive in west Macon on the evening of Tuesday, February 20, 2018. He was found lying on his own doorstep; Bibb County Sheriff’s Office Lieutenant Sean Defoe confirmed the shooting and investigators asked the public to contact Macon Regional Crimestoppers with tips.

Known as Cry, Battle was a father of four and described by family as a quiet, laidback man who enjoyed grilling, washing cars and spending time at home. Neighbors and relatives gathered after the shooting to offer support as the community grieved.

By late 2018 the case remained unsolved and there have been no public announcements about arrests or identified suspects. Does anyone who knew Christopher or who was in the Ruben Drive area that night have information that could help bring answers?
