On the afternoon of Super Bowl Sunday, February 4, 2018, 33-year-old Javaris Antoine Brown was found unresponsive in the driver’s seat of his parked car on Carling Avenue in Macon, Georgia. Deputies determined he had been fatally shot. Detectives traced the case to a meeting earlier that day between Brown and 25-year-old Keith Beddingfield Jr., who arrived with his then-wife Karen, who stayed in their vehicle while Beddingfield got into Brown’s car. An argument in the car was followed by multiple gunshots.
Beddingfield returned to the vehicle with his wife and the couple left the scene; they later returned after Beddingfield realized he had left his phone in Brown’s car. Beddingfield was arrested several days later and Karen Morton-Beddingfield was charged in connection with the killing in May 2018. Brown’s girlfriend told investigators he had been selling marijuana after losing his job and believed he had been robbed of drugs at gunpoint by a man named Keith the day before the shooting.
Does anyone have information about the meeting near Carling and Napier Avenues or about Brown’s movements that afternoon?
