Lilia Edith Anguiano was 26 when she disappeared from her Los Banos, California, apartment complex on the night of August 21, 1999. She left laundry running in a dryer and her two young children, ages 2 and 3, asleep inside the unit she shared with a cousin. A neighbor saw her speaking with her ex-boyfriend and the children’s father, Adolfo Romo Martinez, outside the laundromat; witnesses described Martinez as standing aggressively in front of her and said the pair left together.

Martinez had a reported history of abusing, threatening and harassing Lilia during and after their relationship, and had been ordered to pay child support just before she vanished. He was arrested three days later, charged with her murder, and in 2000 was convicted of second-degree murder and sentenced to 18 years to life. Lilia’s body has never been found, and the disappearance remains unresolved.

If anyone knew Lilia, her movements that night, or has information about the laundromat or the people who were nearby, please come forward.
