Otha Perrin was an 86-year-old deacon and former school bus driver in Elberton, Georgia, whose life ended violently in January 2018. He lived with his granddaughter, 19-year-old Savannah Jennings, who initially reported him missing. A family member grew suspicious and, after Jennings’ account began to conflict under further questioning, investigators searched and on Monday, January 8, 2018 recovered Perrin’s body from a farm pond behind a home.
Authorities determined Perrin died of multiple gunshot wounds and found a .22 caliber rifle near the pond. Three teens were arrested in connection with the death: Jennings, who was charged with murder, aggravated assault and concealing a death; 19-year-old William David Peterson, charged with murder; and 18-year-old Dakota Scott Street, charged with concealing a death. Jennings was described by her community at Bethel Grove Baptist Church as a longtime caregiver to her grandmother’s husband.
Did anyone who knew Otha or his family notice signs of trouble before January 2018?
