Eric Lamar Jenkins, a 38-year-old Black man, was found dead around 4 a.m. on December 30, 2017, near Montgomery Street and West Park Avenue in Savannah, Georgia. Initially treated as a suspicious death, an autopsy determined Jenkins died of a gunshot wound, and violent-crimes detectives opened a homicide investigation.

Investigators identified Deborah Garner as the shooter and said the killing occurred after Garner had been kicked out of a local bar; Jenkins was shot on the street where officers later found him. Detectives tracked Garner out of state and located her in Kentucky on February 28, 2018, where she was taken into custody and Savannah detectives served a murder warrant. The case was then being handled by prosecutors on felony murder and related charges.

Does anyone have information about Jenkins’s movements that morning or the bar incident that might help clarify what happened?
