Rahim Grant, an aspiring rapper, was shot seven times and killed on December 29, 2017, inside a Riverdale, Georgia apartment. The shooting occurred in front of his young daughter. Grant had been recording on his cellphone at his mother’s advice, and that video later contradicted the shooter’s initial claim of self-defense by showing Ciera Harp firing the shots. The recording also captured Grant pleading for a glass of water and asking to hug his daughter in his final moments.
The relationship between Grant and Harp was described as tumultuous; Grant’s mother said Harp was obsessed and jealous after Grant ended the relationship. A Clayton County jury found Ciera Harp guilty of malice murder and aggravated assault in May 2019, and she was sentenced to 125 years in June 2019. During sentencing Harp said she had been drunk and not in her right mind; her mother testified against her and urged the court to impose the maximum sentence.
If anyone knew Rahim, Ciera Harp, or witnessed the events that day, please share what you know.
