Shortly after 3 a.m. on November 28, 2017, police responding to gunfire in the Duncan Park neighborhood of Buford, Georgia, found 16-year-old Alexander Scott wounded in front of the neighborhood clubhouse. He was taken for surgery. Around 7 a.m., a second victim was found dead in a vehicle on a nearby dirt road and later identified as 20-year-old Blake Schulte of Buford, who had a fatal gunshot wound to the waist.

Investigators say Blake and his twin brother Tyler had arranged to meet Scott and a friend at the clubhouse; police reports describe conflicting accounts about what happened next. Scott told detectives he was shot in the back of the head while trying to run after someone yelled give it up. Tyler Schulte told investigators he fired only after hearing a shot from the car Scott had arrived in. Blake’s body was later found in Tyler’s car.

Tyler Schulte was arrested January 20, 2018, and charged with murder, armed robbery, aggravated assault and drug possession. In early February, Michael R. Connor, 19, and Alexander Scott were also charged under Georgia’s party to a crime statute with felony murder and related counts; police say an armed robbery preceded the shootout. Did anyone in the Buford area see activity at the clubhouse that night or have information about who brought the weaponry involved?
