Tekeila Calloway was 25 when her body was found face down in a creek near the abandoned Hidden Hills Golf Course in Stone Mountain on June 28, 2017. A gunshot wound was determined to be the cause of death and a single shell casing was recovered at the scene, but detectives could not establish whether she was killed there or moved to the creek afterward.
Calloway’s family says she was from Gainesville and had previously lived in DeKalb County. Investigators explored whether the killing was gang-related after her mother, Mary Jones, said Calloway had ties to a gang. Detectives also considered that she may have been lured from her Gainesville home by someone she trusted.
In the months after the discovery, the investigation stalled and no arrests were announced; her killers and their motive remain unknown. If anyone knew Tekeila, her movements in late June 2017, or saw anything near Hidden Hills that day, can you help with information?
