On the morning of May 14, 2017, Kelvis Whitley, 28, was shot inside Club One World in Dublin, Georgia, during an altercation in a crowd of about 300 patrons. He was taken to Fairview Park Hospital and pronounced dead at about 3 a.m. Two other men, Miles Hamilton and Tarius Newsome, were also wounded and later released from the hospital.

Investigators with the Laurens County Sheriff’s Office described a chaotic scene: many patrons fled and those who stayed were largely uncooperative, which hindered efforts to reconstruct the shooting. Whitley, a devoted father of two young sons, is remembered by family and friends as kind-hearted and loving. The case remains an open investigation and no arrests have been announced.

If anyone was at Club One World that morning or has information that could help identify who fired the shots, please come forward.
