William Mullins, 24, was one of three people found shot to death inside a home in the 1100 block of East 31st Street in Savannah on April 24, 2017. Officers arrived about 1:15 a.m. and discovered Mullins alongside Courtney German, 31, and Shayla Curtis, 18. Mullins suffered three gunshot wounds including fatal head and neck injuries; investigators described the scene as deliberate and said the killings appeared to be gang-related.
Police quickly identified and charged Keith Lamont Marrow Jr., then 27, after he was stopped on unrelated traffic charges in South Carolina. Authorities connected Marrow to the rented SUV, a .40-caliber pistol recovered after a high-speed chase, shell casings matched to that gun, and fingerprints on a Wendy’s cup at the house. Prosecutors said the killings were an execution tied to gang tensions; Marrow admitted shooting the three but claimed self-defense. A Chatham County jury convicted him of three counts of malice murder and firearm offenses in February 2019, and he received life without parole sentences plus additional time for weapons convictions. The Supreme Court of Georgia upheld those convictions and sentences in August 2025, and no other suspects have been identified.
Did anyone who knew William, Courtney, or Shayla notice tensions in Savannah’s gang networks before April 24, 2017?
