On the morning of January 26, 2017, 24-year-old Keyon Branch was inside a Maryland Drive residence in Albany, Georgia, when a violent attack left him dead. The incident also killed 67-year-old Brenda Forrester, identified as Branch’s grandmother, and wounded three others. Reports describe the deaths as the result of a domestic dispute that escalated into fatal gunfire; a relative, Qua’shawn Branch, was shot multiple times and sustained permanent disability.
Authorities identified Jessie Clarence Brown Jr. as the primary suspect, alleging he drove from a neighboring county in a truck he had stolen from his employer, confronted occupants of the home, then fled the scene in a white pickup. Brown was captured shortly after and charged with multiple offenses, including two counts of murder and aggravated assault. The case severely affected the Albany community.
Does anyone have memories of Keyon, Brenda, or information about that January 2017 attack that could help clarify what happened?
